A Letter from the Founder: The Vision for Sugar Magnolia 2025
Dear Sugar Magnolia community,
Thank you for being here as we step into 2025. I’m Brooke Beardall, the founder of Sugar Magnolia, and I want to share our story and vision for the coming year in this personal letter. This isn’t just about our company – it’s about the growing movement we’re all part of.
The Sugar Magnolia Founder Story
Sugar Magnolia began with a simple idea: help women discover gentle, natural ways to feel better. A few years ago, I noticed many friends juggling stress, anxiety, and mood swings with limited options.
I was searching for something that could bring balance without harsh side effects. That search led me to microdosing psilocybin (the active ingredient in “magic mushrooms”).
Microdosing means taking a very small amount of a substance – typically about one-tenth of a regular dose.
In my own experience, these tiny doses offered subtle benefits: a bit more clarity in the morning, a calmer mood on hectic days, and a sense of being more present in my life. It felt like finding focus and calm in a cup of tea rather than the jolt of a strong coffee.
Seeing these personal benefits inspired me to share this practice. I founded Sugar Magnolia to create a welcoming space for women curious about microdosing.
From day one, I imagined Sugar Magnolia as more than a business. I pictured a friendly neighborhood of support – like your best friend or sister handing you a cup of something warm and saying, “Hey, this helped me.
Maybe it can help you, too.” Our name itself, Sugar Magnolia, hints at something sweet and natural. It reflects my belief that wellness should add sweetness to your life, not stress or complexity.
In the early days, I worked out of my kitchen, experimenting with organic mushroom blends. I tried various recipes to find what felt right – something effective yet gentle.
We started with just a few products (our capsules came first!) and a small circle of local women testers. The feedback was amazing.
Women reported feeling more balanced and focused on microdosing days. They were handling their daily ups and downs with a little more ease.
Hearing these stories confirmed that our approach was worth sharing. It also taught me an important lesson: community matters.
We learn so much from each other’s experiences. That’s why, from the beginning, I made education and conversation core parts of Sugar Magnolia.
It’s not just “here’s a product, good luck.” It’s “we’re in this together, let’s learn and grow”.
Today, Sugar Magnolia has grown beyond that kitchen experiment, but our ethos remains the same.
We stay true to the “three R’s” that guide everything we do – Responsible Sourcing, Responsible Usage, and Responsible Social Impact.
In practice, this means we carefully source our ingredients (all organic and ethically obtained), and we encourage mindful, intentional use of our products.
We’re not here to escape life; we’re here to enhance it in a way that keeps you in control. And we believe in giving back and spreading good in our wider circles – using our influence to uplift others.
These values are the glue that holds our little world together. They ensure that as we grow, we grow with integrity.
The Future of Microdosing: A Growing Movement

When I look at the wellness landscape in 2025, one thing is clear: microdosing is no longer a fringe idea – it’s becoming a real movement.
We’re seeing conversations about microdosing pop up everywhere, from scientific journals to casual chats among friends. What once was whispered about in niche circles is now openly discussed as a tool for mental well-being.
Early research is also giving us hopeful signs. For example, a 2018 university study found a link between microdosing and improved mood, focus, and reduced anxiety.
A 2019 study echoed these results with fewer symptoms of depression in participants. While more research is needed (and some studies suggest the placebo effect might play a role), the overall trend is encouraging.
In fact, even governments have started paying attention – Canada recently issued its first-ever federal grant to study psilocybin for depression.
Moves like that paint an encouraging picture. They show that the world is beginning to take these benefits seriously. As one science writer summed up, “the future of microdosing and the treasure trove of benefits it can bring are promising.”
Beyond the labs and grants, real people’s experiences are driving this change. Every day, I hear stories from women in our community about how microdosing is helping them feel more “themselves.”
It might be a mom who finds a microdose gummy gives her a gentle mood lift during a busy day, or a young professional who notices she’s less anxious on the days she takes a tiny dose before work. These personal stories are powerful.
They are why I believe microdosing isn’t a fad – it’s a practical approach to wellness that more people are embracing.
We’re not the only ones carrying this torch, and I think that’s wonderful. Other brands and communities are rising in the microdosing space, each with its own twist.
In Europe, a new women’s wellness brand called Mabel has made headlines with a bold statement. One of Mabel’s founders said this in an interview, highlighting how natural and non-addictive these solutions can be for women dealing with stress and hormonal issues.
It’s inspiring to see that across the ocean, others share a vision similar to ours – using ancient plant wisdom in modern ways to help women thrive.
Here in the U.S., I’ve noticed companies like Mama Dose fostering a similar philosophy. Their mission is to “empower individuals to take charge of their mental clarity and well-being through knowledge, guidance, and community.”
That quote resonates with me because it mirrors what we aim for at Sugar Magnolia – giving people the tools and knowledge to help themselves, backed by a caring community.
Mama Dose and Sugar Magnolia are part of a broader trend: wellness startups led by people who truly believe in what they’re doing.
For many of us founders, this is not just a business. It’s a way of life. We’ve seen how mindful microdosing can help us reconnect with ourselves, and we’re committed to sharing it responsibly.
Even mainstream wellness circles are joining the conversation. Large publications and health websites now discuss microdosing alongside yoga, meditation, and nutrition.
Think about that – tech entrepreneurs in places like Silicon Valley are microdosing to spark creativity and reduce stress, and they’re talking about it openly.
This is a big shift from just a few years ago, when such topics were taboo. It shows that attitudes are changing fast.
The stereotype that “mushrooms are only for hippies or rebels” is fading. Now, microdosing is being seen for what it can be: a practical wellness strategy for ordinary people (professionals, parents, students – anyone).
We also see the influence of the broader women’s wellness movement in all of this. For years, women have been at the forefront of embracing natural remedies.
Adaptogenic herbs and functional mushrooms (like reishi and lion’s mane) became popular because they help the body cope with stress.
In a way, microdosing psychedelic mushrooms is a natural next step on this path. It offers another layer of support for mood and mental health – one that many women find appealing because it feels earth-grown and authentic.
As more wellness brands for women explore these plant-based solutions, microdosing is poised to become even more accepted.
So what does all this mean? To me, it means we’re on the right track. The world is catching on to something that, in our Sugar Magnolia circle, we’ve believed for a while: small, mindful doses can make a big difference in daily life.
This momentum in the industry excites me. It’s not about competition; it’s about validation that we’re collectively moving toward a more holistic approach to wellness.
And as interest grows, Sugar Magnolia will continue to be a trusted guide in this space – sharing reliable information, busting myths, and promoting safe, responsible practices.
Our Vision for 2025: Growing Together in Wellness

With all this positive energy around microdosing, I’m incredibly optimistic about 2025. My vision for Sugar Magnolia this year revolves around growth – not just in size, but in depth. I see us growing together in a few key ways:
- Education and Transparency: Knowledge is power, especially when trying something new like microdosing. In 2025, we plan to expand our educational resources so that anyone (whether a curious beginner or an experienced microdoser) can find clear, practical information.
This means more blog articles answering common questions, simple guides on how to microdose safely, and perhaps even webinars or online chats where we break down topics in plain language. No hype, no jargon – just honest guidance.
I want Sugar Magnolia to be the first place you turn to when you have a question about microdosing mushrooms or how they might fit into your wellness routine.
We’ll continue to share the latest research findings in digestible terms, keeping you informed about what’s scientifically known and what’s still being studied.
Transparency is part of this vision, too. I believe you have a right to know exactly what you’re taking.
That’s why we lab-test our products and will keep publishing those results. In 2025, we hope to implement an even easier way for you to verify the quality of your Sugar Magnolia supplements (think scannable QR codes on packaging leading to test results). You should feel confident and comfortable every step of the way. - Community and Connection: Our community – The Neighborhood, as we affectionately call it – is the heart of Sugar Magnolia.
This year, I want to nurture that community even more. We’ll host regular online meetups where members can share their experiences, tips, and even struggles.
These might be casual Zoom “tea times” or guided sessions where we meditate or journal together. I’ve learned that when women support each other, amazing things happen.
Sometimes just hearing “I’ve been there too” from someone else can be the most healing thing. We aim to provide those spaces for connection.
On social media, we’ll keep things real and two-way: more Q&As, more behind-the-scenes peeks, and conversations rather than just posts.
And for those looking to get involved on a deeper level, our Sugar Mama ambassador program will continue to grow (more on that in a moment).
My vision is that by the end of 2025, anyone who engages with Sugar Magnolia feels truly seen and heard – like they’re part of a welcoming circle of friends. - Innovation in Wellness (Keeping It Simple): While I prefer not to use buzzwords, innovation can simply mean finding better ways to serve you.
We’re exploring new product formulations that combine functional mushrooms (like lion’s mane for cognitive support) with microdoses of psilocybin in a balanced blend.
The goal is to amplify benefits like focus or stress relief naturally. We’re also looking at different formats: maybe a calming tea blend or a dissolvable strip for those who don’t like capsules or gummies.
Any new product we consider has to pass my personal test: Would I feel comfortable giving this to my sister or my best friend?
If the answer isn’t a confident yes, it won’t make it to our shop. 2025 will be about fine-tuning – improving our existing offerings based on your feedback and perhaps introducing one or two new options that genuinely fill a need.
And of course, everything will remain all-organic and responsibly sourced as it’s always been. - Advocacy and Leadership: As microdosing gains attention, I believe Sugar Magnolia has a role to play in shaping its future.
We’ll continue to advocate for safe and legal access to these tools. This might involve collaborating with researchers or supporting policy efforts that seek to de-stigmatize plant medicines.
We’re a small company, but we have big hearts – and we can use our voice for good. Part of our vision is to be thought leaders in this space.
Not in a boastful way, but in a caring way: by sharing success stories, by talking openly about challenges (like the legal gray areas or the need for more scientific studies), and by always centering the conversation on wellness and personal growth rather than any sort of “party culture.”
If there’s one thing I want the wider world to understand, it’s that microdosing is about healing and enhancing life, not escaping it. In 2025, we’ll carry that message forward wherever we can.
Most importantly, our vision for 2025 involves you. Sugar Magnolia exists because of the incredible women (and supportive men!) who have joined our neighborhood.
Your feedback, your stories, and your trust shape what we do. As the founder, I see my role as a listener and facilitator as much as a leader.
My commitment to you is that I will keep listening closely. If something’s not working or could be better, I want to know. If you have an idea or a need, I want to explore it.
Together, we’ll co-create the future of Sugar Magnolia. The beauty of being a community-driven brand is that we’re agile – we can adapt to serve you better because we actually know you and care about your journey.
Microdosing Made Simple: Our Products and Your Wellness Toolkit
One of my goals is to make microdosing as easy and approachable as possible for anyone who wants to try it. That’s why we offer a range of products to fit different preferences. Each item is crafted with love, organic ingredients, and a focus on consistency so you know exactly what you’re getting. Here’s a quick look at what Sugar Magnolia has for your microdosing toolkit:
- Capsules – Our capsules are perfect for those who value convenience. Each capsule contains a precise microdose (200 mg of our proprietary mushroom blend), making it easy to incorporate into a daily routine without any mess or guesswork.
Many of our community members start with capsules because it feels like taking a daily vitamin.
They’re tasteless and travel-friendly, so you can bring them to work or on trips. If you’re someone who likes routine and simplicity, capsules might be your go-to.
(Tip: We often suggest starting your morning with a capsule and a glass of water, perhaps paired with setting a positive intention for the day.) - Chocolate Bar – Yes, you can microdose with chocolate! This is a fan-favorite for a reason. Our chocolate bar combines our microdose mushroom blend with premium dark chocolate (dairy-free and organic, of course).
Each square is a microdose serving, so you can savor a piece and know you’re getting the right amount.
This option is great if you want to turn your microdose into a small ritual of self-indulgence.
Maybe it’s an afternoon treat when you need a moment of calm, or part of a Sunday evening wind-down.
The chocolate bar makes the experience delicious and a little luxurious – wellness should feel good in every way. - Gummies – Our original microdose gummies are fruity, fun, and effective. Each gummy contains 200 mg of our psilocybin mushroom blend, offering the same dose as a capsule but in a chewy gummy form.
We crafted these for those who might not enjoy swallowing pills or who prefer something a bit more playful. The gummies are flavored with natural fruit extracts, and there’s no “mushroom” taste at all.
They’re a nice option if you like to slowly enjoy your dose – you can even cut a gummy in half if you ever want to start extra low.
Many of our community members say the gummies make microdosing feel like a small treat rather than a task. - 500 mg Gummies – Due to popular demand, we introduced a higher-strength gummy as well. These 500 mg gummies are for experienced microdosers who have found that a slightly higher microdose suits their needs.
Each gummy is 500 mg (which is double the strength of our standard gummy). Despite the increased dose, they still won’t cause psychedelic effects for most people – it’s more about a stronger boost in clarity or mood.
We made sure the taste and texture are just as enjoyable as the original; the only difference is the potency. If you’ve been microdosing for a while and are looking to adjust your routine, these extra-strength gummies offer a convenient way to do so while still keeping dosing accurate and consistent.
Each of these products is designed to integrate seamlessly into your life. Whether you prefer the familiarity of a capsule, the indulgence of chocolate, or the fun of a gummy, we’ve got you covered.
And rest assured, every product is made with the highest quality standards – organic, vegan ingredients, gluten-free, and tested for safety (we adhere to a PsiloSafe Certification to ensure quality). We want you to elevate your everyday moments safely and enjoyably.
(Always remember: listen to your body and go at your own pace. Some days you might microdose, other days you might not. That’s okay – it’s all about what feels right for you.)
Invitation: Join the Sugar Mama Community

As we look to the year ahead, I have one personal invitation for you. If you’ve been enjoying our products or even just our content, consider becoming a Sugar Mama.
A Sugar Mama is what we call our brand ambassadors – essentially, members of our inner circle. Sugar Mamas are women who believe in our mission and want to help spread the word about mindful microdosing in their own communities.
But it’s not a one-way street; being a Sugar Mama comes with some sweet perks. You’ll get access to an exclusive community of like-minded women, receive wholesale pricing on products, and gain tips and tools to share “your sugar” responsibly (as we like to say).
It’s a chance to deepen your journey with Sugar Magnolia and help others start theirs. Whether you’re the go-to wellness guru among your friends or just someone passionate about our cause, we’d love to have you.
To learn more or to sign up, visit our Sugar Mama program page. Let’s grow this sisterhood and support more women in discovering gentle, effective wellness tools.
